Humor is a great way to break the ice or lighten a mood. But jokes that come at someone elses expense are dangerous and possibly cruel.
I always advocate not making fun of your wife. Making the person you love feel awkward, hurt or uncomfortable isnt loving.
However, recently I did make joke at my wife's expense. And I did it in front of a large group. It was hurtful and mean. I was going for laughs and didn't think of the consequences.
It reminded me that not having bad intentions does not excuse anything. Throwing your best friend's feelings under the bus for a laugh is wrong. And totally contrary to being a clever husband. L
